New Rio Gallegos Free Zone was officially inaugurated.

The 200ha site is located on the outskirts of Rio Gallegos, in Argentinaof the province of Santa Cruz and offers additional options to buyers in the region, in addition to Punta Arenas Free Trade Zone.

At the heart of the new Rio Gallegos Duty Free Zone is a 4000m² shopping center that houses 11 stores selling items ranging from tires and car accessories to watches, jewelry and electronics. Retailer London supply has established a new 700 m² duty-free point of sale on the site under the name Patagonia Shops, offering traditional categories such as Perfumes & Cosmetics, Alcohols, Tobacco and Fashion.

A spokesperson for London Supply said: “This is just the start. Due to its large size and permissions, the premises in the Rio Gallegos Duty Free Zone can accommodate more infrastructure and house many more stores and categories, making it not only a top-notch commercial space in constantly evolving, but a potential attraction and an entertainment hub as well, comparable to the most advanced free trade zones in the world.

More than 5,000 people visited the free zone on its first day of operation.
