HDFC Bank on Friday launched the “Shaurya KGC Card”, for families of the armed forces engaged in agricultural activities in which the personnel of the armed forces will obtain funding for agricultural needs such as crop production, post-harvest maintenance and the needs of consumption.

They can also take advantage of this financing to buy agricultural machinery, irrigation equipment or build storage structures, among others, according to a statement from the bank.

The product is based on the Kisan credit card guidelines by the government and would provide lifetime coverage of Rs 10 lakh against Rs 2 lakh for an average card through simple and easy documentation that does not require the physical presence of staff to adapt to the nature of his work and his availability. Speaking at the launch, Aditya puri, Managing Director of HDFC Bank, said: “It is an absolute honor to launch this product for the armed forces and their families. Coming from a family in the Air Force, I saw first-hand the sacrifices the service personnel and their families at home.

“I feel like my career is over now that we are able to do something for them. With that we have a product that is as good for the brothers in the armed forces as it is for the farmers. It is our gift. from Independence Day to our protectors. ”he said.

This activity is part of the bank’s “Har Gaon Hamara” initiative to provide banking services to customers in rural and underserved areas of the country. The bank has already disbursed more than five lakhs in agricultural loans and has set up 12 Krishi Dhan Vikas Kendras across India, the statement said.
